    COMMUNITY PARAMEDICS CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

I serve as the Mental Health Clinician for Safe Shelter and the Clinical Supervisor for the Community Paramedics program. I bring over a decade of experience across nursing, behavioral health, and substance use treatment, with a focus on trauma-informed, harm-reduction-aligned care for people navigating homelessness, addiction, and complex mental health needs.

My work sits at the intersection of direct clinical care and community response. I provide individual counseling, crisis intervention, post-overdose support, and systems navigation, while also supervising and mentoring clinicians and substance-use professionals across multiple certification and licensure tracks, including Peer Support, CDAC, LCAS, and other addictions-related credentials. I care deeply about supporting practitioners doing difficult, high-stakes work and helping them grow into roles that are both clinically sound and sustainable.

My background includes ICU and neuro-trauma nursing, outpatient and residential substance use treatment, and leadership in program development and staff supervision. I’m most at home in high-acuity, unpredictable environments and hold a Certified Crisis Intervention Counselor (CCIC) credential through the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals, which reflects my commitment to thoughtful, skilled responses to crisis that prioritize safety, dignity, and connection.

In addition to my clinical roles, I’m actively involved in local systems work, including Crisis Intervention Training and Continuity of Care efforts, and I support the development of collaborative, non-carceral responses to behavioral health crises in Buncombe County.
